Indian Independence Day - 15th August
Free India !!! Is It ?Hi Friends and Fellow Indians,
A very Happy Independence Day to all my dear Indians.
But to be honest I don't feel so much happiness today which is so called the Independence Day of India.
From Last few weeks I am trying to write something good about India, I am trying to feel something good to write about for this 15th August. But whenever I try to come up with some words, I get to see something which raises a question in my mind about our so called Freeness.
What freeness we are celebrating for !!!!!
Are we poverty free ?
Are we free from the Inflation ?
Are we free from Ineducation ?
Are we free from Terrorism ?
Are we free from Corruption ?
What are we celebrating ??
On 14th August, while being on a Traffic stop, I saw some street children and other beggars selling Indian flags and some other patriotic stuff. They were trying to make up few money to have their daily meals.
I felt that atleast today they will make some money but what will be they doing every other day now ?
I asked them the same question, and they said they don't know. They just care for daily bread, they do whatever occurs to them.
And no need to tell, no one from them knew the meaning of 15th August.
Just Around me only, I see number of children working in every next household and I don't understand whome to blame for it. Those Children have no choice except to work and earn their living. Education doesnt mean anything for them at all, they need their bread first. What's their future in this so called fast developing nation which is in the list of the countries which has most billionaires in the world.
India is dealing with such extremes now and we can see such a difference in the classes now. In even small cities, you can see the expensive cars, luxurious lifestyles, malls for branded stores, high class pubs etc and at the same time you will see hundreds and thousands of people sleeping on streets and slums thinking how will they live their next day. They don't even have luxury to have their own toilets.
Apart from the Poverty, Inflation, Ineducation, India is also facing corruption at its worse. Corruption is at its highest in last few years OR we cansay that due to advanced communication system today we get to know these things now-a-days easily.Anna Hazare is on his 'Anshan' from 16th Aug, 2011 against corruption.
We don't know what will happen in future. But If Anna still succeeds in his mission, I would like to ask, Do we need a 'Mahatma' every few decades to ask for real democracy. real development, real Life, real humanity. This time its Anna, who will come next now ? We may be lucky to have another 'Mahatma' for some other deficiencies of our Political and Economical System.
But what if we don't get another 'Mahatma' ?
Keep Thinking about this and please comment and Lets wish for a real Independence day to arrive for all of us soon.
I will leave some other interesting things for you to know about India.

emergency of 1975 was an ugly chapter in indian democratic system.but people rerspected indira gandhi for many other reasons. now there is not a single soul whom we can respect in goi.all r corrupt, inefficient and jokers.it is beyond comprehension to believe excuses for not including judiciary/pm in lokpal bill which in fact the main source of corruption in this country

Dear friends I wrote this small poem and would like to share with you all
On this independence day while there are lesser flags & lesser rain
I vow to wipe tears in the eyes of old and young
and all those who are suffering
for I know it is I who
can do it.
I vow to be a support to all those who are making an attempt
to change this world and make it a better place to live
and hold the candle of love
to melt each heart for I
know I can do it.
I vow to stand by truth. justice and honesty within my heart
and in my family and all around me at the place I work
and hold the ideal of compassion
to transcend human greed
for I know I can do it.
I vow to be where there is discrimination of people on the
basis of gender, community, physical or mental
disability or money and material things
to spread the feeling of humanism
for I know I can do it.
I vow to be a capable person myself first and also help
others become one without any selfish gain
for I know it is I who
can do it
I vow to my mentor to do all this and much more for I know
I can do it.
